Shahnaz’s career has been focused on mission-driven investing. She started her career in healthcare and financial institutions M&A at Evercore and moved on to off-grid energy investing in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia at Acumen. During her time there, she worked primarily on measuring the social and environmental impact of solar home systems and mini-grids. Later, she helped spin out an impact measurement startup from Acumen.
Shahnaz graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in International Relations and an MSc in Development Management with a specialism in Applied Development Economics.
Her personal commitment to sustainability in 2023 is reducing her consumption of animal proteins and only eating red meat once a week.
